International Village/Tinseltown theatre in Vancouver had one sold-out screening on Friday night – The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom. Signs on every box office window confirmed that the 6:55PM show was officially full.

Having bums in every single seat made for a lively and heartwarming screening. Laughs in all the right places and tears right where they should be.

Anita Adams of the First Weekend Club moderated an enthusiastic question and answer period afterwards with Tara Johns and Julia Stone both in attendance. As Anita reminded the capacity crowd, the first weekend makes or breaks a Canadian film!

With four screenings a day up to and including Thursday March 14th, Vancouverites have a chance to make this a true pan-Canadian success story!
