The Festival is an international, high-end, market-oriented event –  designed as a platform for the Chinese film industry to knit closer ties with the international community. With its mission to develop cooperation, multiply cultural exchange and encourage coproduction, the Beijing International Film Festival is making every effort to define itself as an important cultural event and to re-establish Beijing as the cultural center of China.

This year, Sheila De La Varende will head up Telefilm Canada’s delegation with a total of 8 Canadian films. This 3rd edition will take place from April 16th-23th, 2013.
